In our pursuit of the lowest possible energy consumption, we demonstrate that efficient production and environmental care go hand in hand. For example, we have two CHP plants for recovering the heat released from our flue gases and converting it back into new energy. Residual heat released during the cooling process of the bricks is reused in the drying tunnel. And via a unique energy monitoring system, we keep a close eye on how many cubic metres of gas we use when firing the bricks.

Solar panels are the latest innovation from Rijswaard in the context of sustainable business. In 2019, more than 30.000 m2 of our storage area is covered. More than half of the roof area is equipped with solar panels, so that we can meet most of our electricity needs, 12.500 m2 with 7140 solar panels!
